Blue Nobel Fir
I came across this plant-derives smell in the Arid Room, right next to the door to the Victorian Room. This was a tree that had a very subtle pine smell. Some adjectives that came to mind were fresh and minty. It reminded me of smelling a Christmas tree and brought back memories of being home and spending time with my family. It resembled the smell of fresh greenery that one would find out in the wild. This plant is native to Washington and Oregon, specifically the Cascade Mountains. It is also found in the mountains of California. I would classify the smell as weak. I had to really get up close to the tree in order to smell this slight, pleasant aroma. The smell did not persist throughout my time in this particular room. Also, the second time I returned to smell the plant, it smelled the same as before.
